Cross Generational Mission Trip 2019 – Denver, Colorado
7 adults and 8 youth traveled from Our Savior’s to Denver, Colorado where they participated in a cultural immersion and education experience.

- St. Mark’s has a beautiful garden.
- HKBP Montclair Lutheran Church is an Indonesian Specific congregation.
- We worshipped in a language and culture different from our own.

- Miss Terri Gentry led us on a walking through the Historical Five Points Neighborhood.
- Walking tour where we learned more about the neighborhood that was a black community, and has experienced, and still is experiencing gentrification.
- Inside the Blair Caldwell African American Research Library where we learned the history of black lives in Five Points.

- Sidewalk outside the Black American West Museum – a museum that explores the history of black cowboys, wranglers and ranchers in the American West.
- We spent the evening of Tuesday, July 2, 2019 at Lookout Mountain Park.

- We toured the Museo de las Americas.
- Museo de las Americas is a fine arts museum in Denver, Colorado. It is dedicated to educating the community through collecting, preserving, interpreting and exhibiting the diverse arts and cultures of the Americas from ancient to contemporary, through innovative exhibitions and programs.
- We explored the culture of Puerto Rico’s vibrant and rhythmic festivals, the history of the Vejigante, and Puerto Rico’s relationship to the United States.
- We created the horned mask of the mysterious and charismatic Vejigante, as we listened to the sounds of Bomba music.
- Ziplining
- We ended our time in Denver with a shared a meal of Ethiopian food.
- We all enjoyed the different wats served atop injera (a large sourdough flatbread).
- We ate family style with injera bread.
- We ate with our right hands, using pieces of injera to pick up bites of entrees and side dishes.
- We stopped at the Crazyhorse Memorial on drive back home.
- A quick stop at Wall Drug on our way home.
