Ice Cream Social for CFS on August 19th

WCC’s Fashion Cornucopia Tickets Available Now

The Women’s Clothes Closet will be holding its annual “Fashion Cornucopia” Style Show on Saturday, October 10th at Our Savior’s Lutheran in La Crosse. There will be two seatings this year for the style show and gourmet meal. Doors will open for the first show at 11:00 and at 5:00 for the second show. The style show will feature fashions from downtown merchants including Chic Boutique on Main, City- Wear, Dale’s for Men and Women, Funk, Kick on Main, Lillian’s of La Crosse, Scott Joseph Menswear, Three Rivers Outdoor, and Touch of Class. New this year will be fashions for your man! The event will include a gourmet meal, wine for purchase and tours of the Women’s Clothes Closet before and after the style show. Josh and Kim Shively and Company will provide live music for the show.

Tickets are on sale now for $25 and sold in advance only. Contact Our Saviors Lutheran Church and get your ticket today! Payment for tickets should be made out to the Women’s Clothes Closet and sent to Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, 612 Division Street, La Crosse, WI 54601. All proceeds will benefit the Women’s Clothes Closet.

Through generous donations from the community, the Women’s Clothes Closet provides gently used clothing to low income women targeting those who are entering or in the work force. In 2008 the WCC had 1689 client contacts serving 525 different women in the Coulee Region. This was a 28% increase in client contacts compared to 2007! Proceeds from this fundraiser will be used to help pay the WCC coordinator, purchase personal products for our participants or improve our facility.

Help Send Our Youth to New Orleans

Help send our Youth to New Orleans in two special ways!

In Jackson Square, the crossroads of New Orleans’ French Quarter, there will be a big kettle to fill with quarters. Our goal as an ELCA Youth Gathering is a ONE MILLION DOLLAR offering to combat hunger. That equals $30 per youth attendee. Thank you for your gifts this Sunday!

Could you be a prayer partner for one of our youth (Nylan Hynek, Tom Dereszynski, Ariel Watson, Brittney Dolan, Elise Hynek, and Brittany Taylor)? We ask for members to send the group, along with adult leaders Jessica Zinniel and Pastor Jolivette, with daily prayers. Put your name and prayer partner on a pew card on Sunday, and remember to read our blog, which will be updated daily on our website. Thank you!

Fashion Cornucopia Saturday, Oct. 10th

Fashion Cornucopia 2009 will be Saturday, October 10th. We will have two great shows of fall & winter fashions along with an exquisite meal prepared by our own CFS Team (and served by the handsome OSLC Men’s Club). This show is a fundraiser to help meet on-going expenses and to increase exposure and donations for the Women’s Clothes Closet.

End of Year Party Scheduled for May 17th

The Discovery Kingdom Sunday School will be having their End of the Year Party on May 17th. Help us celebrate another wonderful year of Rotational Sunday School!

Activities are planned for kids of all ages, as well as our traditional gift basket raffle. Vacation Bible School registration forms will be available as well.Contact the Family and Youth team for more information.

Plant Sale May 9th

The Family and Youth team will be having a plant sale on Saturday, May 9th from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Proceeds from the plant sale will support the Youth for their trip to the National Youth Gathering in New Orleans this summer.

Any unsold plants will be available for purchase on Sunday, May 10th. Stop by the Fellowship Hall after worship to get a head start on your garden!

Butter Braids Still Available

The butter braid sale was a great success! Thanks to all who purchased or helped with distribution. If you didn’t get a chance to purchase a butter braid, the Family and Youth team still has a few left to sell. If interested, contact the church office or email the Family and Youth team. Thanks!

Our Savior’s Polo Shirts for Sale

Incorporating our beautiful new church logo, these shirts are fine quality 65% poly/35% cotton collared polo shirts that should not shrink. In men’s sizing, S, M, L, XL and XXL, each size comes in a variety of colors. When colors sell out, we will take orders for more, which will arrive shortly. The cost is $20, and the money goes to our youth heading to the Youth Gathering in New Orleans. These will make wonderful gifts and be a great outreach for our church as well. They are available in the church office during business hours.
